Xanax at 3 a.m.

I far surpassed my twenty-four hours without Xanax

But now I am insomniatic to an exponential

I can’t get all the pressures off my character’s chest

It’s a revolving door of inadequacy–I can’t

I’ve been impaled with all consuming transgressions that

I won’t be able to weather the demonic despair

This tsunami hits the coast, ebbs and flows, ingratiates–

My heart battles the nor’easters powerful tempest

Where anger far supersedes any shades of ambition

Or love.

Ha! Love. I guess the Xanax says I don’t need love–or hate

Just sleep.
