I can only assume this stems from an “ignorance is bliss” platform, but nonetheless I will always choose hard truths.
I’ve been beaten and bruised, internally, for far too long and it diminishes my capacity to trust. Ignorance is not bliss; Thoreau wanted the masses educated, but even in that we find a double edged sword.
Educated men are cunning, when their morals are misguided–they will pummel you with fine lies to assert their dominance and personal desires. Only the pure hearted can fully respect and desire the hard truths in life.
I don’t want anyone in my life who can’t bring the abominable facts to my face.
Deception is my only true enemy.
Anxiety and deeper depression may be the consequence. But it too, shall pass.
“On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain:either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow.”
